Our dogs are all well trained in obedience according to their age. We are always keen to get the best out of our dogs, which is why some of them are also trained for special work, such as dummy sport or object search.
Dummy training is a dog sport that originates from hunting training. It originally involved finding and retrieving shot birds or small game. The “dummy” was used to train hunting dogs without having to work with dead wild animals. Dummy work is more than just “throwing” and uncontrolled “retrieving”. You have to work together as a team.
When searching for objects, the dog learns to find and indicate different materials and/or objects. Concentration, sensitivity and teamwork are also required here. Dogs with this type of training can be found in the police force, for example.
Our Knödel has already successfully completed the first three parts of the training.
